I feel my past experiences and skills would be strong assets in helping toward contributing to your company’s overall success. I feel I bring excellent underwriting and marketing skills, as well as excellent written and spoken communication skills, for your review for this vacant underwriting position.

My consulting activities, which I consider a big plus, included reviewing the underwriting of current rating and coverage insurance programs, the over-sight of the loss control program, and a review of any major claims, or trend in loss sources. I have been involved in overall risk management consultation to help make the overall insurance and safety program consistent and coherent with the aim of influencing an overall optimum insurance program and carrier relationship for the betterment of all major parties.

I have over 15 years of successful past commercial insurance underwriting experience, most of which has been working in the State of California in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas. Though, I did begin my commercial underwriting career as a trainee with Liberty Mutual Insurance working in their Western Pennsylvania office, in New Castle, PA. My commercial underwriting experience has been broad and extensive, encompassing domestic and international underwriting, including reverse flow, writing large sophisticated accounts, and middle market multi-line accounts, ranging from contractors and manufacturers to hospitals, and other types of risk, which I believe are all strong assets regarding my past underwriting experience.

My technical skills include experience with many computer software applications, such as word and excel, with a proficiency in building spreadsheets, bar and pie charts, and graphic illustration, and experience with e-mail, and word processing applications, via Word, etc. Additionally, I have extensive financial skills, including the ability to read and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, and an understanding of most government and industrial economic reports.

I am also well connected, and well liked, in the insurance brokerage community, included my working with brokers, such as, Marsh & McLennan, Winn & Company, Arthur J. Gallagher & Company, AON Risk Services, Woodruff-Sawyer & Company, Saylor & Hill Company, R.L. Milsner, Tanner Insurance Brokers, Heffernan Insurance Brokers, Calco, and others brokers and agents across the country. Though, again, most of my experience has been working in the State of California in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas.
